NYC Dark, Streets of Manhattan After Hurricane Sandy [Video]

While Hurricane Sandy has mostly disappeared from the news cycle, it may be surprising that more than 120,000 homes are still without power in New York and New Jersey. There are families throughout the area who are truly suffering with little to no help from the federal government now that the photo-ops have been facilitated.

Rather than photograph scenes of the devastation, filmmakers Jared Levy and Michael Marantz decided to seize a unique opportunity to capture the eerie darkness of ‘the city that never sleeps.’ The multimedia artists produced a short video called “NYC Dark” using still-shots and time-lapse footage as they strolled through the streets of lower Manhattan.
