C2C-LP-PACKC2C (formerly Coups 2 Cross) is a four-man turntablist crew from France who have to their credit four consecutive DMC Team World Championship titles.  The members — DJ Pfel, MC 20Syl, DJ Atom & DJ Greem — met in high school and began crafting their act using turntables to create a electro/urban sound.  The group released their first EP “Down the Road” in January 2012.

They describe themselves this way:

“C2C’s true purpose, beyond competition, has always been to produce music, or rather to devise a brand new way to create and perform music. Now in their thirties, and freed from the constraints of the competition circuit, the quartet has matured, without losing any of its enthusiasm and energy. Rather than relying on borrowed samples and scratches, C2C has recorded an extensive palette of instruments: strings, brass, guitar, bass, keys, etc., often played on vintage instruments and equipment to capture the elusive “seventies sound” they so cherish. The result is an acrobatic yet deeply melodic and atmospheric series of pieces, a uniquely electrifying blend of electro, soul and hip-hop moods.”

C2C has an 80-date concert tour scheduled for 2013, and their recently released album “Tetra” has gone platinum in France.  A video for one of the songs was released this week: “Happy” was posted to YouTube by C2Cdjsofficial.

If you missed it, here’s C2C’s video “Down the Road” featuring pro skater Richie Jackson.
